"In space, Fringe Patrol can hear you scream."

In the next century, humanity has expanded into space, colonizing the Orion Spur arm of the galaxy. Nations came together to form alliances to share
the expense and resources of such a monumental undertaking. Communities on planets and space stations are established where humans live out there lives
amidst the stars.

The TransAmerican Alliance has expanded toward the center of the universe, 1500 light years out to the spectacular Orion Nebula. This region is a
hotbed of star formation--a nursery of late generation stars whose systems are rich with the rare and valuable heavy metals that humanity needs for
its technological growth. Expansion explodes out here, with prospectors and settlers--and pirates, who come to be known as Raiders.

|
The edge of the expansion of civilization is called the Fringe. It's a lawless region, akin to America's Wild West, and the
TransAmerican Alliance forms Fringe Patrol, sort of a "Coast Guard of space," to keep the peace and to perform search and rescue missions when trouble
arises. Whenever you send off a distress call, you can count on Fringe Patrol to come to your aid.

But the Raiders have an agenda of their own. They see themselves as patriots, not pirates, and they despise the control of countries
on Earth over the open expanses of space they call home. They fancy themselves the heirs of the American revolutionaries and begin guerilla
attacks against the Alliance, fighting for their freedom. No longer are they considered pirates, but terrorists.

|
Our heroes are a crew of three, stationed at the Fringe Patrol base in the space station Orion Crossing. Travis is a Navy man
transfered into Fringe Patrol with military experience. Stanley is a top-notch navigator who has served Fringe Patrol for many years. Rikki
is an aloof woman who explodes like a fireball when trouble rears its head. Together they battle to serve and protect the citizens of the Fringe
against the dangers of undeveloped space and the growing threat of the terrorists.
